am an educator, writer, son, partner, brother, uncle, friend, teacher, advisor, mentor, gamer, enthusiast and bricoleur. William Gibson said it best - "all things are increasingly interesting to me."
I am currently Head of Senior School at Sewickley Academy, just north of Pittsburgh.
My teaching practice centers on the intersection of core skills (critical thinking, incisive writing, effective reading and persuasive speaking) with emergent, 21st century skills and methods (digital collaboration, blog-based writing, game-based assessment).
My leadership practice focuses on developing the self-assessment capacity of teachers to empower themselves to transform their teaching and their students' learning.
I have traveled extensively and have consulted on curriculum design and program development with educators in central Europe and Israel, as well as with schools in the United States.
